ANTI-SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT
In accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, this statement provides the measures that Wilson & Co (Motor Sales) Ltd t/a Wilson & Co and Wilson & Co (Kia) Ltd t/a Drayton Motors and Victor Wood of Oakham Ltd t/a Drayton Motors and Automotive Hub Ltd. t/a Autohub takes to prevent slavery and human trafficking occurring in its business and supply chains.
We are fully committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business and supply chains and we require the same standards from our suppliers.
ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
Wilson and Co currently operates Vauxhall franchised motor dealerships throughout England; locations include: Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Bolton, Chorley, and we also operate Kia franchise motor dealerships trading as Drayton Motors locations include: Boston, Grantham and Louth.
We are an automotive retailer undertaking the sale of new and used vehicles, vehicle parts and accessories, vehicle aftersales servicing and vehicle body repair.
The group’s head office and Holding Company, RJTK Investments Ltd is in Grimsby, England. The group has over 300 employees all based in England and operates exclusively in the UK.
SUPPLY CHAIN
As a result of the franchise nature of our business a large proportion of our supply chains are through the supply of vehicles and parts from the manufacturers listed above.
We have also identified the following suppliers to be at a higher risk of potential breaches of the modern slavery obligations:
Valeting services
Outsourced automotive bodyshop contractors
Building contractors and electricians
Cleaning services
Workshop equipment calibration services
These suppliers make up a very small proportion of our supply chains but we have undertook confirmation procedures to ensure compliance with our anti-slavery policies. We will continue to identify any new high risk suppliers, ensuring they have agreed to adhere to our anti-slavery policy.
Any instances of non-compliance of which Wilson and Co is made aware will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Wilson and Co will only trade with those who fully comply with our anti-slavery policies or are taking steps towards compliance.
OUR POLICIES ON SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Wilson and Co Ltd prohibits all areas of its business and supply chains from using slavery and human trafficking of any kind. We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking.
Our recruitment policies ensure employees establish their right to work in the UK and satisfy minimum age requirements and our internal human resources policies ensure working practices are monitored for ongoing compliance with current legislation. We ensure that all business activity complies with minimum wage legislation and we also require this of our suppliers.
Our whistleblowing policy provides internal contact points as well as access to an external reporting line to our employees in order to report any concerns, including any Modern Slavery Act 2015 breaches or potential breaches.
Wilson and Co will investigate thoroughly any claim or indication that areas of our business or supply chains are engaging in human trafficking or slave labour.
TRAINING
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, all our staff are obliged to familiarise themselves with our anti-slavery and human trafficking policy which is easily accessible in our company handbook on our intranet. New staff are also trained on our anti-slavery and human trafficking policy during their induction. This policy ensures all staff can identify any issues and are aware of how to report them.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2018.
This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors.
